Editorial
The project as it was originally conceived has changed enormously in a very short time. Initially it was supposed to be the subject of crowdfunding and finally this solution was temporarily put aside due to the lack of popularity and support of the project leader. Indeed, I literally come out of Limbo after years of silence and almost no one remembers “The Darkers” which made people talk about it until 2008 before being cut off from the internet for almost an entire year. The project is therefore currently distributed on digital platforms such as Spotify, Amazon or iTunes. The crowdfunding phase will be launched if there is interest in the physical version of this collection.

Each album will require a huge amount of work to reconstruct and rewrite because for most of the compositions from the first volumes there have been significant losses due to storage media failures. Currently 10 albums are planned and will enter into re-production phase, with a planned release on a quarterly frequency for each album.
This represents a colossal amount of work just to produce a single one of these albums because for each song it is necessary to rewrite or recheck the lyrics, determine the structure and the desired style and then generate, select the most interesting tracks and assemble them to give body to the final composition, which can take a few hours very quickly.
2. Album‘s presentation
The first time I played the very first demos of my first compilation “PrEvIoUsLy UnReLeAsed”, I was immediately told “well listen, there are some things that are good, huh, but then this sound… It’s heavy, it’s depressing, it’s… it reminds me of an anvil… anvil-like, that’s it! It’s anvil-like music!”.
It could be extremely annoying and yet… It was really the case at the time given the recording conditions. No garage to make a “garage band” and therefore forced to record in your room with a speaker converted into a makeshift microphone, which ultimately gives a very heavy sound…
Not having a title for the first 3 original volumes of the collection, I told myself that to restart the collection from scratch I had to make a splash. The first album will therefore be called “Anvil(ic) Music”!
MAXI Single
In addition to the album and its “bonus” content from the “Deluxe” version planned soon, I also offer a maxi single taken from the album with some unreleased tracks as additional content. The Maxi is titled “Forged With Shards Of Dark Metal”.
Singles
Finally, from each album are extracted at least 3 singles including either alternative versions of the songs or unreleased songs and sometimes both at the same time 😉
3. Biography
Musical Roots (1979 – 1996)
Alexandre Omeljanczyk was born in 1979 in Forbach (Moselle). Between 1986 and 1988, he took piano lessons and learned music theory for two years before stopping music lessons. From the start, he turned to composition but it was not until 1996 that he really started playing music and it was in 1998 that he met Eric Brochard whom he joined as bassist in the group “Metal Acid”.
The experience and collaboration around the “Metal Acid” project lasted two years and only a few songs recorded via an old 4-track recorder survived in the group’s archive. First bassist then bassist and singer, Alexandre Omeljanczyk composed several songs for “Metal Acid” which would remain on a first compilation of demos called “PrEvIoUsLy UnReLeAsEd” then began the second compilation of demos “PrEvIoUsLy UnReLeAsEd II”.
Founding member of groups (2000 – 2006)
In 2000, Alexandre Omeljanczyk met Jérôme Froehlich at his workplace. Together they organized a first rehearsal although their influences were very different at the time. At the end of this first rehearsal, the idea of creating a group took shape and after a few “Jérôme Sessions”, the group found its name: it would be “The Darkers”. A first demo was quickly put together and allowed them to find the third member of the group, Cyrille Toussaint who would play drums but not only.
Because that is the particularity of “The Darkers”: the roles in the group can change and Jérôme Froehlich can switch to drums while Cyrille Toussaint ends up on bass and Alexandre Omeljanczyk on guitar. Even in terms of singing, Jérôme Froehlich and Alexandre Omeljanczyk alternate for lead vocals and backing vocals, which gives a truly unique sound to the group, which nevertheless split up in 2001 after its first concert. Alexandre Omeljanczyk and Cyrille Toussaint, however, remain linked by a common passion and the positive experience of “The Darkers” which allowed them to emancipate themselves musically speaking.
In 2001, they recruited Xavier Freudenthal to found “Neo Generis” and to start with a new repertoire composed by Xavier Freudenthal and Alexandre Omeljanczyk who continued to record demos and compile them on “PrEvIoUsLy UnReLeAsEd III”. From 2001 to 2003, “Neo Generis” performed in Moselle in Saint-Avold, Merlebach and Puttelange-aux-lacs until the initial formation was transformed. Xavier Freudenthal temporarily left the group and was replaced by Pierre Spang and Aline Deiana.
On this occasion, the group changed its name and became “Lain” which performed between 2003 and 2004 on the local scene with mainly covers and some compositions inherited from “Neo Generis”, knowing that Xavier Freudenthal would rejoin the group in 2004 until its separation. Pierre Spang, Cyrille Toussaint and Alexandre Omeljanczyk will be joined by Aline Basin who will give a new dynamic to the group “Lain”, which will become “Lain Rebirth” and which will become as originally a group focused on composition which will perform on the local scene between 2005 and 2006. “Lain Rebirth” will even record a first demo of three titles at the Crazy Sound studio in Biding before finally splitting up in 2006.
It was during this period that Alexandre Omeljanczyk completed “PrEvIoUsLy UnReLeAsEd 4 – The Reminder”, his last demo compilation before transforming his demo compilations into a concept album with “PrEvIoUsLy UnReLeAsEd 5 – Bites & Claws”.
Temporary replacement (2006 – 2008)
It was finally Cyrille Toussaint who called Alexandre Omeljanczyk back to propose him as a replacement for David Barra in the group “Pentastar” composed of Arnaud Schmitz, Cyrille Toussaint and Julien Stark. Between 2007 and 2008 the group was very active on the local scene and performed regularly in Moselle. At the end of 2007, Cyrille Toussaint left the group and was replaced on drums by Eddy Bellatel. Focused on composition, the group recorded a demo called “Electrical Wire Chopped Inside” in early 2008, the title of which “Soulmate” was selected to appear on the compilation “Droning Earth XI”.
In 2008, Alexandre Omeljanczyk left “Pentastar” in favor of David Barra, whom he had temporarily replaced. He then took the opportunity to complete his tenth iteration of “PrEvIoUsLy UnReLeAsEd”, a collection of compositions that includes between 150 and 200 songs and demos from various periods and musical styles. Having reached this point in the composition, Alexandre Omeljanczyk decided to put the composition aside and embarked on various parallel projects.
Other projects and collaborations (2008 – 2018)
Between 2004 and 2007, Alexandre Omeljanczyk led various projects parallel to his musical projects, notably in the field of the sagasphere and MP3 sagas. Contemporary with Donjon de Naheulbeuk, Adoprixtoxis, Reflets d’Acides and Survivaure, he developed solo the modest saga of “Aventuriers du Château de Morenbach” just before the creative boom of MP3 sagas. Crossing paths with several creators of MP3 sagas under the pseudonym of The Darkers, he will first collaborate with SoCalian to play a character of the “Compagnie de Morjin”, then with Aslag to replace the narrator of “Duke Niké” and finally with Spike Heart for the role of Hyksôs in “Tarentur Platinium”.
Back to Music (2024 – ?)
In 2024, Alexandre Omeljanczyk accidentally discovered SUNO, a platform for generating music using artificial intelligence. Curious, he started testing the application and tried to push it to its limits. Given the results obtained, he decided to take his collection of demos and compositions “PrEvIoUsLy UnReLeAsEd” and undertake a vast restoration and rehabilitation program, or even enter a new form of composition.
Between 2009 and 2011, he collaborated for a while with DJ Tophe on hardcore remixes and then from 2012 to 2014 with the Chou’Rikan Prod team as a screenwriter on the short films “Mon lapin s’appelle Maurice”, “Esprit de famille” and “Capt’ain Carton et Sapin Tade”. Between 2015 and 2018, he participated more than largely in the rewriting of “Tarentur, la légende oubliée – Le champion d’Athéna” (ISBN: 978-2-9542156-1-7) before releasing the novel “Ac Dominum Malum” (ISBN: 979-10-284-1427-6) in July 2021.
Note that between 2001 and 2023 a collection of 21 novels was produced under the title “A&TDR” and is still awaiting publication or even extension.
4. Practical information
The crowdfunding campaign has been postponed for several months, giving me time to succeed in creating a community around the project.
When it is launched, it will concern “Anvil(ic) Music”, the first volume of the “PrEvIoUsLy UnReLeAsEd” collection;
Rewards are planned:
- In the form of MP3 downloads (Singles, Maxi, Album and Album version “Deluxe”);
- In the form of limited edition physical CDs (300 singles and 500 doubles);
- Other media are planned, in particular in the event of exceeding the first funding level;
The first level of the collection is reached from €2,100 and allows the objective to be considered as achieved;
Part of the profits from the sales will be reinvested in the collection of the second album of the collection which will take place 3 months later;
Every 3 months an album from the collection will be offered in limited edition with unreleased songs that will only be offered to contributors to the collection and will not be published on music platforms;
The profits made during the crowdfunding collection and then on the online music sales platforms for each album will be partially donated to charitable or non-charitable associations, with an official publication of the donations made on the 0m32.eu website
